Nutrition Consultation Package Additional Services Our Testing & Assessment options can assist in setting your goals and tracking your results. Our Exercise Physiology team can answer questions, assess your needs, set testing schedules, and suggest the best testing protocols for you. The PISE team will use your results to create a program design to ensure a safe and successful training experience. Are you ready to change your life? Then the Life Makeover Package is the program for you. This individualized strength and conditioning and nutrition package will give you the education, support, training, and nutritional knowledge to reach your personal goals for health and wellness. Your Strength and Conditioning Coach and Nutrition Consultant will work collaboratively to design a program that will lead you to success. Our specialists are committed to helping you change your life! Includes:baseline measurements and health screening; strength and conditioning sessions 3 x per week for 3 months; Biomechanical Assessment; nutritional services includes: 1 initial consultation (45–60 minutes); 5 follow–up nutrition consultations (30 minutes); 1 computerized nutrition analysis; weekly nutrition tracking; PISE Nutrition booklet; and a 2 week standard calorie appropriate meal plan. This program includes a 3 Month Membership.
Need a kick–start to your routine? The Performance Package is designed to give you physiological data and training tools to work towards achieving your goals. Includes:goal related testing protocols; Biomechanical Assessment; body composition testing; 10 week strength and conditioning program design based on test results; 1 session per week with your Strength and Conditioning Coach (10 sessions); and a 3 Month Membership.
Are you new to PISE or considering joining but are unsure how to properly utilize all of the equipment that is available to you? In order to help familiarize you to your new training home, we offer complimentary orientations on the second Sunday of every month. We encourage you to come with any questions so we help you make the most of your PISE experience! These sessions are held on the second Sunday of the month from 1:00–2:00pm.
This one hour and fifteen minute class will refresh your soul and revitalize your body. Elizabeth has been teaching for over 15 years and her style incorporates dynamic movement with alignment. Prior Yoga experience is not required. Instruction will include basic standing poses, hip/leg stretches, shoulder girdle/arm stretches, simple backbends and some inversions. Enjoy a class that balances your energy and invigorates the body, mind and spirit.
This energetic class will rev you up. Join our enthusiastic instructor for a class that is sure to have you ramping up your RPMs. All experience levels welcome. Any new participants to PISE Spin, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the first class for orientation.

This fun and exciting camp will utilize Run Jump Throw teaching techniques to capitalize on the window of accelerated adaptation for children's development of the fundamental ABC's of athleticism as identified by the FUNdamental Stage of the Long–Term Athlete Development Model: Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed. These skills will be taught in a well–structured, fun environment utilizing a wide range of different sports, games and drills to help develop physical literacy and enhance participation and familiarization with different athletic and recreation activities, enhancing your child's quality of life and health. Expert instruction in a range of sports may include soccer, basketball, badminton, lacrosse, Ultimate and volleyball among others.
This exciting camp will introduce participants to expert training in a variety of familiar and new sports. By improving skills and physical literacy in a variety of different sports, your child will have a step up later in their athletic career when they decide which sport to specialize in. Time will be spent with a Strength and Conditioning Coach developing power, agility, speed and quickness, as well as with skill specific coaches from a variety of sports including soccer, rugby, basketball, Ultimate, volleyball and more. Each day will include games and scrimmages to practice your young athlete's new and improved abilities.
PISE Female Only Camp Ages 12 – 17 If you are interested in learning about yoga, kickboxing/self defense, weight training and other fun, healthy activities in a girls–only environment, this camp is designed for you. Our expert female instructors will introduce the concepts and techniques that form the basis for these activities and provide the foundation for increased self confidence and motivation.
Rugby Sport Specific Camp Ages 14 – 17 Train at the home of the National Rugby team! Skill development will be worked on through a series of drills and games implemented by members of Rugby Canada's Coaching Staff. Strength training protocols developed in conjunction with the Rugby Canada's Strength and Conditioning team will focus on proper running mechanics for on field agility and speed improvements and strategies for sport specific strength training.
Volleyball Foundations Skills and Drills Camp Ages 13 – 17 This camp offers you the best of both worlds, volleyball skills acquisition with elite level volleyball players, as well as improved strength and conditioning with our Certified Strength and Conditioning Coaches. This course will use a variety of techniques to improve your jumping ability, court agility and speed, while lowering your risk of injury. All sessions will include a combination of technical drills and fun scrimmages all geared towards improving your game for the season to come.
Champions Academy Basketball Summer Camp Ages 10 – 16 Get ready for the basketball season with our complete basketball training program! Where a leather basketball goes from being a stranger to becoming a friend! Skill development includes: Crossover dribble, Drive to the hoop, Jump stop, Fake a bounce pass, and then lay the ball in! Receive specific instruction on improving footwork, shooting technique, ball handling, passing, rebounding and offensive and defensive individual and team concepts by Eli Pasquale and a host of excellent coaches.
Are you looking for the science to back up your fitness program? The Endurance Performance package is designed to give athletes physiological data as they work towards optimum performance. Includes: a V02 max or Lactate Step test to determine heart rate and pace specific training zones; Body Composition analysis to determine if weight gain or loss over time is fat or lean body mass; and a Sweat Sodium Analysis to calculate your sweat rate and sweat content in your training environment and gives an understanding of how much fluid and electrolytes you need to consume; and a strength & conditioning session to review the program design utilizing the data from testing protocols.
F.A.S.T. – Field Agility & Speed Training Put yourself a step ahead of the competition for the start of the upcoming season. This program will focus on teaching the correct movement patterns required for cutting, accelerating, decelerating, and change of direction. Drills will utilize ladders, hurdles, jukes and plyo boxes to create a fun and challenging workout environment while also improving balance, coordination, proprioception and stability in the areas needed to help avoid lower limb injuries.
PISE is the centre for High Performance training on Vancouver Island. We want to make you the best athlete you can be! If you are an athlete of any age or ability, dedicated and committed to achieving your personal best, or a coach that wants to provide your team with a distinct competitive advantage, then the Sport Performance Membership is perfect for you. Includes:sport specific testing protocols; Biomechanical Assessment; body composition testing; 12 week strength and conditioning program design based on test results; 1 session per week with your Strength and Conditioning Coach (12 sessions); and a 3 Month Membership.
University/College Recruitment Packages This 4, 6, or 8 month package is designed to prepare you for moving on to the next level in your athletic career. Our Strength & Conditioning Coaches will design a program specifically for your sport, complete with protocols designed to maximize your scores on the tests that CIS or NCAA schools look for (i.e. 40 yard dash, vertical jump, beep test etc.). Includes: sport specific testing protocols with a printout from Canadian Sports Centre Pacific, Biomechanical Assessment, weekly training sessions, letter describing your training protocols to send to potential University/College institutions, program design, and a PISE Membership for the duration of your package.
If you want your team to be the best, you have to train with the best. Dryland strength and conditioning is a proven way to improve your field, ice or court performance while minimizing the potential for sports related injuries. Our Strength & Conditioning Coaches will design a program specifically for your sport, utilizing the latest scientifically based protocols to improve intra–muscular coordination, mobility, stability, strength & power, flexibility, speed and agility. Your team will be instructed through a training program which progresses through your season, and is developed in conjunction with your practice and game cycle, ensuring continued improvement and adaptation is occurring in your athletes.

This course is designed to certify you as a Personal Trainer. This course covers more detailed instruction in health screening and fitness assessment, posture, program design, risk management, and business planning to prepare you to work with individuals on a more on–going, personalized basis. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Fitness Theory and Weight Training, as well as 20 hours of on–floor experience in a supervised weight room setting.
1Optional textbook available – additional fees will apply. This course is designed to certify you as a Personal Trainer. Please note all the fees are in U.S. dollars. The International Coaching School (ICS) is in its 20th year of operation, offering Advanced Coach Education through the National Coaching Certification Program. Operated by the National Coaching Institute – BC at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence, the ICS will provide programming in two main streams: Development and High Performance. Development Stream (NCCP Level 3 Equivalency) This stream is geared toward coaches of developing athletes who are early in their competitive career or aspiring to compete at provincial or national championships. Coaches will be accredited as being trained in coach education modules in the NCCP Competition Stream. Coaches who complete required modules will be able to receive credit for Level 3 theory. High Performance Stream (NCCP Level 4/5) As the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) moves toward a new NCI curriculum, Level 4 tasks will be phased out. The 2010 ICS will be one of the last opportunities to complete Level 4 tasks in the existing format. Coaches will have until January 1st of 2011 to complete outstanding task requirements. After this time, coaches can receive credit for level 4 tasks through the new curriculum.

Sport Performance Speaker Series Hitting the gym is not the only important piece of sport training, learning from other athletes and coach's experiences will help athletes build their mental strength as well. The Sport Performance Speaker Series has been developed to support an open exchange of information and build upon our current knowledge of the sport industry. These events are free to attend and geared toward general public, students, athletes and professionals currently involved in the sport industry. Each session begins with a sport–related presentation, followed by a roundtable discussion. Presentations will focus on: training and coaching philosophies, key concepts for world class preparation and personal learning in pursuit of sports excellence. Past presenters include:
