The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence is a unique and holistic sport development model that will fuel Canada's sport performance, build a healthier nation and develop role models to inspire physical literacy. An international forerunner bringing sport education and athlete development under one 'roof', it will incorporate sport science, sport technology and innovation, and sport and wellness research. A partnership initiative of Camosun College, Canadian Sport Centre Pacific and PacificSport Victoria, the Institute is a visionary nexus of educational programming in sport leadership, coaching science, athlete and coach development and wellness; sport medicine and sport science expertise; and sport facilities within a single centre helping Canada take its rightful place in sport. Summer Camp Supervisor Approximately 20 hours per week in May-July We are seeking an individual with a diverse athletic background to run sport specific camps for children aged 3-18. Roles & Responsibilities: - Coordinate and organize summer activity programs to focus on health, wellness, and sport education and skill development. - Facilitate access to national team athletes, sport services and education opportunities in our unique setting and facility. - Supervises and guides summer camp leaders and assistants assigned to group. - Schedule summer camp staff and facility usage. - Assist a Strength and Conditioning Coach with balance, coordination, strength and sport specific exercise techniques. - Provide physical literacy instruction for technique and skill development in a range of sports, including badminton, soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, gymnastics, athletics, Ultimate etc. - Directs group of children in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children's interaction with one another. - Participates in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support, etc. - Serves as a role model to young children by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct. - Responsible for participants’ safety. - Reports any accident to proper facility personnel. - Takes accurate attendance of participants daily. - Follows facility policies and procedures.
